Once a week — new videos as they go up, plus journal-making ideas, inspiration, tips & tricks. Never noise.

If you've been looking for a small, carry-everywhere notebook to catch all the thoughts, to-dos, and project ideas that pile up in your head — the kind of thing you can pull out anywhere and just write it down — this flip-through is for you. I've been putting together a restock of ten handmade mini traveler's notebooks for my Etsy shop, each one smaller than the standard traveler's notebook size and packed with four bound inserts and a coordinating little supply pack. Before I walk through all ten, I also share how I've set up my own personal copy as an everyday organisation system — which might give you some ideas for how to use yours.

What we cover

A complete flip-through of all ten mini traveler's notebooks available in the restock, including the inserts inside each one and the contents of the accompanying supply packs. I also walk through how I've divided my own notebook into five working sections for to-dos, projects, miscellaneous notes, drainers and annoyances, and a wish list — a simple structure that's made a real difference to how I manage everything swirling around in my head.

What you'll learn

How I've organised my personal mini notebook into five sections — and the thinking behind each one:

  • A running to-do list with no category restrictions, for anything that needs doing regardless of where it belongs
  • A project tracker for anything with three or more steps, so I can see exactly what's been completed and what comes next
  • A miscellaneous section for things that don't fit neatly anywhere — quotes, stray ideas, whatever needs a home
  • A drainers and annoyances section for all those small nagging things (the plant that needs repotting, the shelf that needs fixing) that quietly drain your energy every day
  • A wish list for things to buy or look into eventually

How I use a mini journal as a catch-all system
I walk through my own personal setup — five sections covering to-dos, projects, miscellaneous, drainers, and a wish list — all in one tiny notebook I carry everywhere to get things out of my head.

How the inserts are structured across the notebooks, including:

  • Lined paper with a date section at the top
  • Larger-lined paper
  • Clear (blank) white paper
  • Black paper (featured in select notebooks)
  • Tea-dyed paper in warm coffee tones
  • Purple-dyed paper (used in Marine Love and Paradise)
  • Parchment-style printed paper (featured in Stillness)

What comes in each supply pack, so you know what you're getting to decorate and personalise your notebook:

  • Adhesive pockets (sticky-backed, so you can place them wherever you like inside)
  • Printed labels to mark your inserts
  • Stickers coordinated to the cover theme
  • Scrapbook paper offcuts that match the interior papers
  • Journaling card spots, printed on both sides
  • Buttons and brads from the same collection as the cover

What comes inside each mini pack
Every notebook ships with adhesive pockets, insert labels, stickers, scrapbook paper, journaling card spots, buttons, and brads — all coordinated to the cover's theme so you can start decorating right away.

How the covers and inserts work together — the inserts are bound (individual pages stay put), but the inserts themselves are removable from the cover, so you can swap them out and keep using the same cover over time.

Size and insert details for the traveler's notebooks
These are 3¾ × 7½ inches — slightly smaller than standard traveler's notebook size. The inserts are bound so individual pages can't be removed, but the inserts themselves come out of the cover.

A quick look at each of the ten notebooks by name: Timeless, Blissful Creations, Marine Love, Flowery Heaven, Blue Flowers, Stillness, Turquoise Bloom, Happy Birds, and Paradise — each with its own laminated dried-flower or pressed-leaf card tucked inside, and a charm at the front that can be removed if you'd prefer a cleaner look.

Tips & gotchas

A few things worth knowing before your notebook arrives:

Two of the covers — Timeless and Stillness — use glitter paper. It's beautiful, but glitter does what glitter does. If getting a little shimmer on your hands while you're writing is going to bother you, keep that in mind when you're choosing.

Glitter cover papers leave glitter on your hands
Two of the notebooks — Timeless and Stillness — have glitter covers, so keep that in mind if glitter on your hands bothers you. Everything else about them is the same as the other notebooks.

The inserts are sewn-bound, so individual pages aren't removable. What is removable is the insert itself — you can pull a whole insert out of the cover when it's full and replace it, which is really the whole point of the traveler's notebook format.

All the specifics — page counts, exact measurements, paper types — are listed in full in the Etsy listings. The notebooks measure three and three-quarter inches by seven and a half inches, which is slightly smaller than the standard traveler's notebook size. Worth knowing if you're planning to use a cover or band you already own.

The scrapbook paper offcuts in the supply packs are sized to work with what's already inside the notebook. I'd use the smaller pieces as little folded notebooks or shopping list booklets if you don't want to paste them directly into the inserts — that's what I'd do with mine anyway.

Once I finish this restock, my next video will be a full step-by-step on how to make these notebooks — so if you've been wanting to create your own rather than buy one, that's coming soon.
