Privacy Policy

Treasure Books ("we", "us") publishes this website and the TreasureBooks YouTube channel. We are based in Australia. For any privacy question or request, contact us at the email address at the bottom of this page.

If you subscribe to the Letters newsletter: your email address, and the date and consent record of your sign-up. That's all we ask for — no name is required.

When you browse the site: the site is a set of static pages served by our hosting provider, Cloudflare. Cloudflare automatically processes basic technical information (such as your IP address and the page requested) to deliver pages and protect the site against abuse. We do not place advertising or cross-site tracking cookies of our own.

When you play a video: watch pages embed videos from YouTube. A video only loads after you click play. At that point YouTube (Google) may set its own cookies and collect data under Google's Privacy Policy, which is outside our control.

We use your email address only to send you the Letters newsletter — new videos, journal-making ideas, and occasional tips. We send through our email provider, Kit (operated by Kit.com, Inc., in the United States), which stores the subscriber list and delivers the emails on our behalf. Kit acts as our data processor; see Kit's Privacy Policy. We do not use your email for anything else and we never sell or rent it.

When you sign up, we send a confirmation email and only add you to the list once you click the link in it ("double opt-in"). This confirms the address is yours and that you genuinely want our letters.

Every newsletter we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link. You can leave at any time, and we'll stop emailing you straight away. You can also email us and we'll remove you by hand.

We keep your email address for as long as you're subscribed. When you unsubscribe, your address is removed from active sending; our provider may retain a suppression record so we don't accidentally email you again.

You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. If you're in the European Union or the United Kingdom you have these rights under the GDPR; if you're in Australia you have them under the Australian Privacy Principles. To exercise any of them, just email us — we'll respond within a reasonable time and at no cost.

This site and newsletter are intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has subscribed, contact us and we'll remove the address.

We may update this policy as the site grows or our tools change. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes that affect how we use your email will be noted in the newsletter.
