Welcome in.I'm so glad you're here.
I'm sure you're ready to make some journals — all it takes is a little time, and a friendly guide. Let me be yours.
Create a journal one small piece at a time
No finished journal, no matter how pretty or sophisticated, was made all at once, nor in any fixed order. A pocket here, a page there — each journal element is its own small, finished thing you can cherish.
So begin with one small piece. Make a single pocket, or a tag — and if you stop right there, you've still made something real, with your own hands, today.
And you don't have to find that first piece on your own — that's what I'm here for. The step-by-step videos below are made for exactly this.
Real first journals, made by people just like you.

Make this one with me.
About this tutorial
- 4 junk mail envelopes
- some paper for inside pages (any kind)
- twine
- an awl (or a thick needle)
- 30 minutes
If you don't have these — almost anything will do…
Or, begin with one of these instead.

Easiest Journal Ever
You won't be making this alone.
There's a Facebook group, and it's a kind one. First attempts are the most welcome thing there — no one is judged, everyone is cheered on. So when your first piece is done, however small, bring it and show us. I'd love to see it.
Welcome again. Make something today.
P.S. If you never want to miss one of my videos, we can connect via email :)
