Once a week — new videos as they go up, plus journal-making ideas, inspiration, tips & tricks. Never noise.

This is a 30-second teaser clip — a glimpse into a Patreon-exclusive video about a 7-day creative journaling challenge. There isn't enough content here for a full article, but here's what the clip offers: the idea that you make the rules, the encouragement to build a daily creative habit, and the promise of a proper introduction video coming the next day.

If you've been thinking about drawing or journaling every day but haven't quite found the push to start, this short clip is a preview of something bigger — a 7-day creative challenge I've been running over on Patreon.

What we cover

This teaser touches on the core idea behind the challenge: that daily creative practice doesn't have to follow anyone else's rules. The full video lives on Patreon, with the introduction dropping the following day.

What you'll learn

How to set your own terms for a daily creative challenge — you don't have to draw faces or follow a prescribed prompt list. If houses are your thing, draw a house for five days. If you'd rather fill pages with patterns or lettering or abstract marks, that counts too. The point is showing up, not performing.

Making your own rules for the challenge
You don't have to follow a set format — I encourage you to adapt the challenge to what excites you, like drawing only houses for 5 days instead of faces. The goal is just to show up every day.

Why daily practice matters — the idea of taking your creative muscle to the gym: small, consistent effort builds something over time in a way that occasional big sessions don't.

Tips & gotchas

The most useful thing in this short clip is also the most liberating: you can make your own rules. A "draw every day" challenge doesn't have to mean figure drawing or portraiture or anything that feels intimidating. If you're more comfortable drawing landscapes, still lifes, or even the same simple subject repeatedly, that repetition has real value. Narrowing the prompt — drawing only one thing for several days in a row — can actually sharpen your observation faster than variety does.

The challenge you'll keep is the one you design for yourself.

The full introduction video is waiting over on Patreon, where the challenge proper begins.

If the idea of building a quieter, more consistent creative habit appeals to you — one day at a time, on your own terms — that's exactly what it's there for.
