Five-minute project ideas
A handful of paper scraps, a few envelopes, some lace — and six small things worth making from all of it.
Dear friend,
As makers, we don't always have a whole free afternoon. Sometimes we have fifteen minutes, a restless pair of hands, and a scrap pile that's been sitting in the corner long enough to feel like a problem.
This video was made for exactly that moment. Six projects — decorated tag booklets, paper rosettes, pocket pages, a little journal from two envelopes, lace tassels, spine charms, mini matchbooks — each one start to finish in about five minutes, each one built entirely from what you probably already have. No special tools, no tidy craft room required.
What I love about working this small is the way it changes how you see your stash. Those broken earrings, the odd strips of lace, the envelopes you've been saving without quite knowing why — they're not clutter. They're already halfway to something. The rosettes I showed here have quietly found their way into almost every journal I've made since; the matchbooks are one of those ideas where you make one and immediately want to make a dozen more, just to have them ready to tuck into things.
If you'd like to work through all six — or just find the one that's calling to you — here's the whole thing, start to finish.

Each of these six projects is small enough to finish in a quiet moment between other things — but they have a way of adding up. Pick one, make it, and see where you end up. I hope it's exactly the kind of afternoon you needed.
